Correctional Officer 1 – Eyman Complex Job Location: ASPC/Eyman Complex, 4374 E. Butte Ave., Florence, AZ 85132 Salary: $45,621- $54,975, Geographical Stipend 10% of base salary, Hiring Bonus $5,000 Additional incentives: $2,500 upon completion of Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA), $2,500 after 6 months of full‑time employment. Candidates with no experience receive a $1,427.92 salary increase upon graduation from COTA. Grade: CO1 Closing Date: (Not specified) Job Summary We are actively seeking talented individuals for Correctional Officer positions at our Eyman (Florence, AZ) facility. Joining us means contributing to our vision of reimagining corrections through four mission‑centered goals: Foster a meaningful organizational culture that promotes team development Implement optimal population management and progression strategies Deliver high‑quality services and continuity of care in facilities and communities Modernize and sustain our practices and resources Applicants who complete the selection process will attend and complete the thirteen‑week Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA) in Tucson, Arizona, earning a Certificate of Completion in Correctional Technology (21 college credit hours). After COTA, you begin a required 12‑month probationary period. Job Duties Primary responsibilities include: Ensuring the security of the inmate population within the facility’s perimeter Providing supervision and guidance to inmates Conducting thorough pat and strip searches to maintain safety Effectively de‑escalating situations Initiating and completing reports accurately and promptly Fulfilling all assigned post duties diligently Responding promptly to emergency situations as required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Uphold high standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism; adhere to the code of conduct, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate impartiality. Physical Fitness and Stamina: Physical fitness required for standing, performing searches, restraining individuals, and responding to emergency situations. Pre‑Employment Requirements Applicants must meet: Be at least 18 years of age Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalency Degree (GED) Hold a valid driver’s license No felony convictions Provide proof of legal U.S. residency Employment is contingent upon passing a background investigation. Candidates must also pass the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E‑Verify) and complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test during New Employee Orientation and yearly thereafter.
