Job Type Job Type: Hourly, Full-Time Pay Pay: $25.00-$32.00 Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Generator Technician who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of portable generators and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, hands-on expertise, and a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team. Key Responsibilities Installation & Setup: Install portable generators and related systems at customer sites, ensuring proper functionality, safety compliance, and adherence to industry standards. Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of portable generators, including engines, electrical, and mechanical components. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve generator performance issues, including electrical faults, fuel system malfunctions, and mechanical breakdowns to ensure operational efficiency. Customer Support: Provide exceptional service by explaining generator functionality, creating maintenance schedules, and advising customers on safety guidelines for generator usage. Inventory Management: Maintain and organize an inventory of parts, tools, and equipment required for repairs and installations to ensure minimal downtime. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with industry safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment. Documentation: Complete work orders, service reports, and inventory logs accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring that records are up-to-date and compliant. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and customer service staff, to provide high-quality service and resolve any technical issues. Qualifications Proven experience as a Generator Technician or in a similar technical role, with a solid understanding of generator systems and troubleshooting methods. Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills with the ability to work on various types of generator models and components. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints effectively. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures relevant to generator operations and maintenance. Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to interact with clients professionally. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to customer sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Certification in electrical or mechanical systems (e.g., Electrical License, Mechanical Certification). Experience with portable air conditioning systems and related equipment. Prior experience in the rental or portable equipment industry, with a strong understanding of rental operations. Working Conditions This role may require occasional travel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Physical demands include lifting heavy equipment, bending, and working in various weather conditions. Flexible hours may be required to meet customer needs, especially for urgent repairs or scheduled maintenance.
