The Facility Plant Operator is responsible for the daily operations of the facility's central energy plant, and main plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Utilizing a working knowledge of boilers, chillers and other plant equipment, you will ensure the plant consistently runs efficiently, safely, and smoothly. You will implement strategies to drive continuous improvement and maintain model operation by planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, industry standards, manufacturer's recommendations, company policies and procedures and by creating work schedules, developing maintenance schedules, and mentoring general maintenance technicians. You will adhere to processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity, as well as, increase equipment efficiency, capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards to complete equipment repairs and renovations, and maintain inventory of plant assets, maintenance tools, and supplies.
Operate boilers in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper water chemistry, alternative fuel operations, and safety equipment functionality
Operate chiller plant in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper operating pressures, temperature differentials, and water chemistry
Operate medical gas source equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper operating parameters, equal equipment run times, and safety equipment functionality
Operate air distribution equipment (AHUs) in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper air pressurization, space temperatures, and equipment cleanliness
Interact with facility management leadership for reporting
Monitor the plant equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working order, and repair or replace equipment as it becomes necessary
Operate facility in an effective and energy efficient manner
Manage components of regulatory compliance as it pertains to the plant and the operation of the equipment within it as well as standards of federal and state agencies, local municipalities, fire marshals, other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
Maintain all relevant documentation utilizing HCA Healthcare Engineering technology platforms to comply with all regulatory bodies
Associate's Degree in engineering-related field or trade/technical certification or license, 5+ years' experience in Plant Operations
High School Diploma or GED
Experience in Plant Operations in an acute care setting is highly preferred
*Possess the ability to integrate in the department call schedule, approximately 1 week, every 5th week.
