Functions Area of Responsibilities Enforce Tanner Health System rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Conduct proper interior and exterior security patrols and fix or report any safety, security, and maintenance issues as appropriate. Respond to active alarms and maintain high visibility on property. Manage patients with 1013 2013 status in accordance with Tanner policy. May also be required to assist in management of patients displaying inappropriate behavior as determined by staff, but not assigned 1013 2013 status by appropriate individuals. Maintain proper documentation in accordance with Tanner policy. Administer facility security and access control measures. Comply with standards set forth by regulatory agencies, to include the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Attend meetings and participate in continuing education mandated per department and system policy. Transport individuals, equipment, medications, and supplies within and between Tanner facilities. Use and maintain facility and issued equipment in accordance with Tanner policy. Secure individuals in high difficulty situations. This includes direct interaction with belligerent patients or visitors and crowd control. Take immediate corrective action against hazards and conditions which may cause injury or damage. Apply appropriate use of force in accordance with Tanner policy when warranted for the protection of patients and staff. Maintain current knowledge of roles and responsibilities as they relate to Emergency Management. Function appropriately in the Incident Command System during disasters and other Emergency Management Related events. Maintain security of medications during transport to and from nursing areas. Obtain any required documentation or signatures to document chain of custody when transporting medications between facilities. Utilize safety precautions at all times when performing this function.
