Job Description

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Surgical Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our statewide, non-profit healthcare system. In this role, you will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other clinical professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical procedures for patients across a variety of specialties. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room by gathering, organizing, and arranging instruments, supplies, and equipment according to surgeon preference cards and procedure requirements, while strictly adhering to sterile technique and infection control standards. During procedures, you will assist the surgical team by anticipating needs, passing instruments and supplies, maintaining accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments, and helping to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient environment. You will participate in preoperative and postoperative room turnover, including cleaning, restocking, and preparing equipment for subsequent cases, and will help troubleshoot basic equipment issues to minimize delays. As a key member of a patient-centered care team, you will support Piedmont Healthcare’s culture of respect, innovation, and teamwork by communicating clearly, responding calmly in urgent situations, and contributing ideas to improve processes and patient outcomes.
