This role offers an experienced Registered Nurse the opportunity to specialize in women’s health and reproductive medicine within a rapidly growing practice. The position focuses primarily on prescription management, prior authorizations, and other computer-based clinical support, with limited direct patient contact. You will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate medication access for a high-volume patient population while collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage prescription-related tasks, including processing new prescriptions, handling prescription issues, and coordinating refills.
• Complete and track prior authorizations for medications and related treatments, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
• Order medications, including IUDs, and maintain accurate logs of orders, inventory, and usage.
• Monitor and resolve daily prescription issues for a high-volume practice that sees more than 300 patients per day.
• Communicate directly with patients by phone to provide updates on prescription status, clarify issues, and facilitate resolution.
• Provide hands-on clinical assistance to physicians 2–3 times per day as needed, while maintaining a primarily computer-based workflow.
• Review lab results and other clinical information and communicate findings or next steps to patients via email or other approved channels.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to address medication-related problems and ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Perform medication reconciliation and related medication management tasks in alignment with clinical protocols.
• Document all patient interactions, prescription activities, and prior authorization outcomes accurately in the electronic systems.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by maintaining a friendly, proactive, and professional approach in all communications.

Essential Skills

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• GYN or OB/GYN nursing experience.
• Demonstrated experience with prior authorizations and medication-related processes.
• Strong patient care background in a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Comfort and proficiency with computers and electronic systems for documentation and communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for phone and electronic patient interactions.
• Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in women’s health, gynecology, or reproductive medicine.
• background in handling medication-related problems and medication reconciliation.
• Familiarity with OB/GYN clinical workflows and terminology.
• Friendly, proactive, and collaborative personality with a strong customer service mindset.
• Ability to adapt to evolving processes and support the growth of a multi-location practice.
• Comfort working with limited face-to-face patient interaction and primarily computer- and phone-based responsibilities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week, with weekday coverage between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Typical shifts include an opening shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and a closing shift from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The schedule includes rotational Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a compensatory Monday off. Flexibility is essential, as you will rotate between opening and closing shifts and may work across multiple office locations in Midtown and Downtown, including sites where IVF procedures are performed. The role is predominantly computer-based, using electronic systems for prescriptions, prior authorizations, lab review, and patient communication, with occasional hands-on clinical support for physicians. The practice is growing rapidly and expanding to additional locations, offering opportunities for professional growth within women’s health and reproductive medicine in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

The company name is Ferny Fertility. Ferny in New York provides comprehensive women's healthcare, including IVF and fertility preservation. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance and vision insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) options. 20 days per year total, kicks in after 6 months of employment, and holiday coverage is usually seniority based
